Alleged Criminals Bring Baseball Bat to Gun Fight

Two men in Lancaster, Ohio apparently intended to abduct a woman as she walked her dog recently. But it seems they had second thoughts once they realized she wasn’t so defenseless.

According to WBNS-TV, Dinah Burns was walking with her dog on August 25 when she says two men approached her.

“Two gentlemen came out of the woods, one holding a baseball bat, and said ‘You’re coming with us’”, she said.

But she didn’t go anywhere.

“I said, ‘Well, what do you want?,’ and as I was saying that I reached in to my pocket and slipped my gun out, slipped the safety off as I pulled it out. As I was doing that the other gentleman came toward me and raised the baseball bat. And, I pointed the gun at them and said, ‘I have this and I’m not afraid to use it,” she  explained.

The men apparently realized their weapon was no match for hers. They reportedly fled.

Meanwhile, this is just the latest example of an armed citizen thwarting a crime.

Four gunmen allegedly broke into a Florida home and demanded money and prescription drugs. After his 911 call went to voicemail and the intruders returned to the home, he shot one of them. The crime appeared to end at that time.

And a man allegedly robbed a store in Albuquerque recently and then returned. An employee reportedly shot and killed him.
